Gumping and 'Life is but a drean'

Jackson has a lot of trouble pronouncing the "j" sound which I think its kinda funny since his name is Jackson. He pronounces the "j" sound with a "g" sound instead so Jackson is Gackson. He CAN make the "j" sound but doesn't do it often. Well he learned to jump recently and LOVES to practice this new skill but calls it gumping. I cannot even say that with a straight face. He'll be jumping alll over the room saying "Momma GUMP, Momma GUMP!" because he wants me to jump with him. You try to keep a straight face!

Jackson also LOVES to sing "Row, row, row your boat" right now and will sing most of the song and at the end says "....life is but a dreeeeeaN". Even though he can clearly say "dream" the song always comes out as "dreeeeeaN" at the end. Toddler language is a riot.

"Crayon...Are You Ok??!!!!"

This made me laugh out loud today. Jackson was helping me while I was cleaning our minivan today and he had found a few rogue crayons under the seat which totally made his day. He was playing in the back of the van with some cars and his newfound treasures and I hear him saying "Crayons!...Are you ok??!!....Oh good". I stopped cleaning and listened to him "talk" to the crayon a few times. It was freakin' hilarious. I always ask him "are you ok?" when he falls or bumps himself...maybe his crayons are clumsy too. :)

How do you know that??

While Jackson's obsession with animals, especially dogs, is not at all surprising or new he did something at Petsmart today that made me actually say out loud " WOW how did you know that?!". We visit our local Petsmart about a gabillion times a week because you can see the doggy daycare dogs playing through floor to ceiling windows. During our visit today Jackson starting pointing out dogs saying "Chiyaya...Bulldog... Labboodle...Terror...Cavy....Beadle" and he was actually correctly naming the breeds.
Up until now Jackson usually referred to all dogs as "dog" or "pupppy" or by their name if he knew it. And now he is correctly naming breeds which I may have mentioned in passing but I never specifically said "That is a chihuahua". It just blows my mind the info they can pick up and retain!
Making a dog Mom proud! LOL

Eye Color Intrigue

Jackson's eye color is quite interesting. The color almost seems to change on a daily basis from sky blue... to slate blue ....to grey. He probably thinks his Mom is some kind of freak because I am always looking at his eyes from about 2 inches from his face. :) I can't help it! Does anyone know when final eye color is set??

Wonderful Day at the Zoo

We had absolutely gorgeous weather today and decided it would be a perfect day for a trip to the zoo. I knew that Jackson would be super stoked about the zoo this visit since he is all about the animals these days. I told Jackson this morning that we were going to the zoo and were going to see lions, and tigers and monkeys. He was BUCKED UP!

We went to breakfast first at Baker's Square and he was SO very good. Mark and I could actually enjoy our breakfast without having to fish for Jackson under the table to run all over trying to not bash into the waitstaff. He kept telling our waitress "Thanks" and it was entirely too cute. She complimented him on his blue eyes and his "cool hair". :)

Once we got to the zoo Jackson couldn't wait to get in and was holding my hand leading me to the first exhibit. We saw a pair of sleepy lynxes first and Jackson kept saying "Ohhhh how cute!". The sea lions and sea otters were a big hit. We totally lucked out and got to see the female tiger VERY close up. She was in the indoor encloser which has windows that you can look in and she kept walking right up to the glass. Jackson had his lil nose pushed up against the glass and was about 5 inches from a stunningly beautiful adult tiger. He LOVED it. Of course the petting farm was a huge hit as always and Jackson wanted nothing more than for alllll the goats to give him kisses.

It was a morning filled with "Ohhhh so cute"..."Look Momma/Pappa"..."Goat kisses"....and "SOOO excited". Couldn't think of a better to way to spend the day!
